As she remembers it, "The portraits were done about 1966. I may have received some money and later on Janice dropped the paintings off. What a wonderful gift! I remember feeling so lucky and important to have my portrait painted. Maybe their real model couldn't come that day but it was a group of artists at your house. Great memories!"
The Trustman family lived up the hill from us on Lyman Place. Janice became friends with Ruth Trustman, Toby's mom, perhaps it was through Girl Scouts in which my mother was involved over the years. My dad had a connection with Toby's dad, Mike, as they were both in the Army stationed in India during WWII.
Like many other of our friends, they saved the holiday cards that Janice created over the years.
