Well, this is why I started the Art in the Family blog...so that owners of my mother's work can find out more about her and share the pieces that they are lucky enough to possess.

This painting was owned by a fellow painter and Maine neighbor, Anne Wallace.  I was contacted by Anne's son-in-law, and her daughter kindly sent me this image.  Janice loved painting the quarries near Port Clyde in both oil and watercolor.  While the quarry paintings are landscapes, they are also nearly abstractions.  This one is framed in the simple style that Janice often used.
